Esmé Roche Moissaniate

Moissanite is more sparkling than a diamond and is the world's most brilliant gemstone; it is often acclaimed as a gemstone born from the stars.

Natural moissanite is rare, so almost all moissanites are lab-grown. It is nature loving, as no mining is needed and its origins are easily traceable.

1. Sparkling - Moissanite is the world's most brilliant gemstone.

2. Nature Loving - Moissanite is lab grown with tiny environment impact, given that no mining is needed. It is, of course, suitable as an ethical engagement ring.

3. Value - Moissanite is much more affordable than many types of gemstones, including diamond.

Please do not be confused, moissanite and diamond are different types of gemstones. Let us explain moissanite vs diamond side by side with you.

1. Colour (Natural colour of a gemstone)

Both moissanites and diamonds can project from bright to yellow hue depending on their quality. They are on the same grading scale from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow). D to F is colourless whereas G to I is near colourless.

2. Clarity (Cleanness of a gemstone)

Both moissanites and diamonds are on a scale from Flawless to Included. Internal characteristics are called inclusions and characteristics on the surface are called blemishes.

Given that moissanites are lab-grown, they have few internal imperfections. Diamonds may also have few internal imperfections, their prices, however, would be significantly higher.

3. Cut (Proportions/Symmetry/Polish of a gemstone)

Cut refers not only to the shape of a gemstone, but more importantly to its proportions (its angles and facets in relation to one another), symmetry (its cut precision), and polish (its surface).

For the shape, you may find round, oval, pear, cushion, princess, radiant and other cut in moissanites and diamonds.

The most popular cut for moissanites is the round brilliant cut. Oval and cushion are popular, too.

4. Hardness

Moissanite scores 9.25/10 whereas Diamond scores 10/10 on the Mohs scale. 9.25 is a very good score to make Moissanite durable and suitable for everyday wear.

In fact, our clients told us that they have been wearing Moissanite rings for years and the rings are like what they first purchased!

5. Price

Moissanite casual as well as engagement rings are much more affordable than diamond rings!

Natural and lab-grown diamonds prices vary considerably because of 4Cs (carat, colour, clarity and cut) and shape. Lab-grown diamonds, of course, are usually more affordable than natural diamonds.

Yes! Moissanite is almost indistinguishable from diamond and is much more affordable. Moissanite casual and engagement rings are popular and are suitable for everyday wear.

No, but neither are natural diamonds and moissanites.

We've embraced a meticulous procedure to ensure our lab-grown Moissanites are of high quality in all aspects, including - but not limited to - cut, colour, clarity and hardness.
